With a happy ending!
In 1981, I fell in love with the most beautiful girl I had ever laid eyes on while on tour in Houston, Texas. Truly love at first sight, I knew I had found my soul mate.
She said “yes” on Christmas Eve of 1982, and we were married in July of 1983. We spent our first few years together on the road touring, Teri always by my side. We loved to travel, me playing music and us being together. In the summer of 1985, we moved to New York.
We both took jobs in advanced technology, being there at its beginning in the mid-’80s. Teri was a graphic designer and creative director in advertising, and I managed and consulted in digital print and technology. We worked 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. A little stress? Oh yeah.
Then in April of 1989, Teri was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Our life, our love, how long did we have? Given the projection that we may have little time left together, everything changed. We resigned from our stressful jobs to spend every moment together. Teri started an all-natural herbal program and taking it on together, we changed our way of eating and exercising. That year was filled with surgeries, and treatments, but also with so much faith and love.
During this time, I did what I do best, I wrote music. Uplifting music to help us both feel positive as we awoke together each morning. Light and delicate music to balance our afternoons. Calm, relaxing music when stress was high to give us peace. Comforting music helps us fall asleep each night.
This music was to heal my heart and soul, as much as hers. And somewhere along the way, through faith, hope, and love, we survived. We were healthier, happier, and more in love with life than ever. So in 1993, we built a private studio designed for our newfound love and appreciation of this peaceful music and I began to record my music. We knew how much peace it had brought to us, and we wanted to share it with others.
Music designed to inspire, heal, and relax.
And now, after 40 beautiful and healthy years together, we hope our story and our music will inspire you to take care of your health, be in awe of nature, be open to love, and find peace in every day!
Marley and Dylan enjoy play time and would LOVE another brother to run with through their big house! And ALL their beds are big enough for three!!!
